Boat Line Drawings started the way a lot of good things in South Florida start — with saltwater in our blood, a tournament schedule on the fridge, and never quite finding the gear that looked as good as the fish felt. We build custom boat art and tournament-ready apparel for people who take their time on the water seriously.

Raised on the Water

South Florida is a tournament town, and we grew up in the middle of it — running inlets before we could drive, mating on friends' boats before we could legally work, and spending more weekends chasing sailfish and dolphin than doing just about anything else. Fishing here isn't a hobby, it's a calendar. Between the tournament circuit, the boat shows, and the marina culture up and down the coast, the water shaped how we see everything, gear included.

Started With a T-Shirt

Our founder, Jonathan Matthews, grew up obsessed with marine gear — always noticing the boat that was rigged just right, always wanting the crispest, best-looking fishing shirt on the dock, and never quite satisfied with what was actually available to buy. As a kid, that obsession turned into action: Jonathan started designing and making shirts for himself and his neighborhood friends, well before it was anything close to a business. It was just what he cared about.

Outfitting Tournament Teams

That habit never went away — it just got bigger. As Jonathan got older and started fishing serious tournaments of his own, he began outfitting his tournament teams the same way: custom shirts, boat graphics, and gear that actually represented the boat and the crew, instead of generic stuff off a rack. Other captains and teams started asking where it came from. Boat Line Drawings grew out of that same drive — take the same care with your gear that you'd take rigging your spread, and get it right.
